Inversion Ensemble & Density512 Tackle Björk's Songbook — October 2023

“Audiences basked in art-pop glamor over Halloween weekend with a special collaboration between Inversion Ensemble and Density512 that paid tribute to legendary Icelandic singer Björk with freshly reimagined versions of her most beloved songs including Venus As a Boy, Hidden Place, It's Oh So Quiet, Human Behaviour, and more - all set for voices and chamber orchestra. The two concerts featured new arrangements by James Tabata, Adrienne Inglis, Benjamin Dia, Marjorie Halloran, Carol Brown, Suzette Emberton, François Minaux, Nick Montopoli, Jordan Walsh, Sophie Mathieu, and Trevor Shaw. No matter if you've been a career fan of Björk or you were discovering her music for the first time, it was a mesmerizing evening of beautiful music.” — KMFA's Top Twelve Classical Highlights of 2023

"Inversion Ensemble is an absolute gift! Thoughtful, innovative programming and incredible performances. But hearing them at the Rosette really took the experience to the next level. It was beautiful, intimate and visceral. It was magic to hear those voices in that space!” — Dr. Rachel McInturff, Armstrong Community Music School

"Inversion Ensemble gave Where Go the Boats a gorgeous and nuanced performance, bringing thoughtful musicality to even the subtlest details of this piece." — Dale Trumbore

"Inversion Ensemble truly brought my piece to life with delicate artistic finesse. To collaborate with an ensemble such as theirs is one of the reasons why composers continue writing. I would be absolutely honored to have them sing any of my works.” — Luke Flynn

"I was delighted when Inversion Ensemble accepted my piece (I would rather die than hate you) for performance. It’s great that such a group of dedicated and talented musicians are committed to new choral repertoire." — Paul Ayres

“The recording of Inversion Ensemble's performance of my piece Message of Puissant Baal is extraordinarily beautiful, rich in expressive range and nuance, and emotionally complex at every moment.  The blessings of entrusting my music to the ensemble are enormous, considering the fact that I was unable to attend the rehearsals and performances.  I'm grateful to Inversion for reaching out to me in the first place, and for placing its musical trust in me.” — Michael Alec Rose

Inversion Ensemble's I, Too, Sing America was named one of 2018's Ten  Top Ten Classical Performances by Austin Chronicle.

O Sacrum Convivium, recorded by Inversion Ensemble Da Capo under the direction of Adrienne Pedrotti, has been selected by Petrichor Records for inclusion on their forthcoming album New Music by Living Composers. This recording will be released later this year. Heartfelt thanks to Inversion Ensemble Da Capo and director Adrienne Pedrotti for their stunningly beautiful performance and to Trevor Shaw and Robbie LaBanca of Inversion Ensemble for their ongoing support of my work! I am truly blessed to have you all in my life." — Stephanie K. Andrews
