Katrina Saporsantos , Artistic Director and Conductor

Katrina Saporsantos is a Filipino soprano, conductor, composer, arts administrator, and actor based in Austin, TX. Besides her work with Inversion Ensemble, Rina sings with the Grammy®-Award Winning professional choir Conspirare and is the Alto Principal of their Symphonic Choir. She is a freelance opera singer and recitalist, one-third of the voice-trumpet-piano trio Tatsulok, and one-half of the piano duo Kapwa. Rina is a faculty member of the Zach Scott Theater Pre-Professional Company and a Teaching Artist for their Adult Acting Classes (Intro to Musical Theater). She maintains a private voice studio where she teaches students of varying musical levels. She passionately believes in the power of singing with one's authentic voice and helps singers to demystify singing in order to achieve their goals. She is also a 2025 B. Iden Payne awardee for Best Musical Score, which she shares with her co-actors and artists from TheVORTEX’s production “MotherTree”.

Rina holds a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of the Philippines College of Music, and a Master of Music degree and Professional Studies certificate from the Manhattan School of Music. She continuously tries to find ways to use her art in innovative and meaningful ways by programming music that uplifts others and shines a light on various issues she feels strongly about.

A member of ASCAP, Rina is a fierce advocate of Filipino music and the creation and performance of new music, and programs as much of these as she can in her projects.
