In Memoriam: A Modern Requiem

In response to all those we have lost in the last year, Inversion Ensemble has constructed a new, modern requiem with individual movements provided by different composers mixing standard Latin text and contemporary poetry. Inversion Ensemble collaborated with renowned pianist Michelle Schumann for this very special concert featuring new works by local composers Trevor Shaw, Adrienne Inglis, Stephanie K. Andrews, Majorie Halloran, Trevor Villwock, and Robbie LaBanca. This concert also features the winners of the Third Annual Sandra Fivecoat Memorial Emerging Composer Contest, Luke Flynn and Shruthi Rajasekar. Little Robin by Rachel DeVore Fogarty is the Happy Composer Commission Project for this event. The concert also includes Belinda Reynolds’ Remembrance for chorus, marimba, and piano.

Aether: Water

Inversion's Aether: Water is a virtual, mostly choral, concert. No two singers or instrumentalists recorded together and most recorded using only iPads, often in closets or apartment bedrooms. All tracks were stitched together to create our virtual choir.

 Inversion I

This album comprises the work of four of our in-house composers

and features some of the finest musicians in Central Texas. We recorded this album over several sessions in 2019 and 2020 at Space ATX and Concordia University Texas with the help of Dr. Joshua Chai.

Artistic Director Trevor Shaw, Managing Director Robbie LaBanca, and Inversion Ensemble member Juli Orlandini compiled, mastered, and produced the album. Inversion I features a breadth of musical styles, themes, and unique compositional voices that take the listener on an auditory journey through the lens of new music.

We invite you to take a moment to experience Inversion I with us.
