Inversion becomes first-ever Ensemble-In-Residence at St. James’ Episcopal Church
L-R: Inversion Board President Jonathan Riemer, St. Episcopal Church Rector Rev. Eileen O'Brien, SJEC Vestry Senior Warden Harrison Eppright and SJEC Music Minister & Inversion Singer Rick Gabrillo
On December 20, 2025, Inversion signed an agreement with the St. James Episcopal Church, the only Black Episcopal church planted in Austin, becoming its first ever Ensemble-In-Residence. This is a historic partnership for both organizations, who share many aims and whose missions are in alignment. What this means is that St. James’ becomes the home for rehearsals and (many) dedicated performances for our ensembles, and we get to interact with members of their highly diverse faith community. AND they're a singing church, too!
