Coda is Inversion’s community chorus exclusively for singers aged 50 and above who want to:

  • hone their musical chops

  • keep on singing and learning challenging music

  • create music with a group of people who are experiencing vocal changes that come with age

There is no audition to participate in Coda! It’s a fun, welcoming environment for anyone who loves to sing. Practice tracks will be made available to help you learn your music. All voice types are welcome.

ABOUT THE CONCERT

Coda presents its first-ever 2nd solo concert in a single season on Saturday, March 7, 2026 with with Dream A Little Dream. This concert about dreams and lullabies carries a profundity of meanings ranging from comfort, rest, and wishes for children to complex themes in adulthood like an escape from reality, love, hope, social commentary, and cultural expression. Our Inversion Cares partner for this concert is Swan Songs, a nonprofit organization that provides private, live music concerts for individuals with terminal illnesses or those nearing the end of life. Dream a Little Dream marks Inversion Ensemble’s exciting partnership with St. James’ Episcopal Church as its first Ensemble in Residence.

FEES

We request a singer fee of $100 for participation in Coda prior to the first rehearsal (pay your fee here). This amount covers all music, administrative, and artistic costs for this project. If you're not in a position to pay the full singer fee but can pay an amount that's in your budget, that’s completely fine, and you can still use that same link.

Please request a fee waiver in the registration form if you are unable to pay the singer fee— we are committed to making choir accessible to everyone! Kindly contact Rina for any questions.

SHEET MUSIC & REHEARSAL TRACKS

Sheet music will be sent via Dropbox by January 2. We will print copies of music for those singers who request it. If you are using paper copies, please make sure to place your music in a black binder with the inner corners cut off to reduce noise when turning pages.
Singers are welcome to use tablets, alternatively, or to print directly from the Dropbox in advance of rehearsal. If you have a tablet but have not used it for reading music, we will happily give you a crash course! If you’re an iPad user, download the “ForScore” app prior to the first rehearsal. If you’re an Android user,

Rehearsal tracks will be provided to help singers practice at home. These will be available by January 5th.

CONCERT ATTIRE

Concert base attire is all black that’s considered relatively “nice.” We’ll also be adding a pop of color (yet to be determined!) such as ties, pocket squares, jewelry, shawls, socks, shoes, etc. We do not subscribe to gender norms, and support all singers in wearing attire that best represents themselves. The goal is to feel and look confident, happy, and proud.

COMMUNICATION

All questions and concerns - attendance, concert, fees, etc - should be addressed directly to me (Rina Saporsantos) at katrina@inversionatx.org. I can’t wait to see you and work with you!
