Coda is Inversion’s community chorus for singers aged 50 and above who want to:
hone their musical chops
keep on singing and learning challenging music
create music with a group of people who are feeling similar vocal challenges that come with age
There is no audition to participate in Coda! It’s a fun, welcoming environment for anyone who loves to sing. Practice tracks will be made available to help you learn your music. All voice types are welcome.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
Coda opens Inversion’s 10th season, presenting America, Our America–a concert that includes a mix of music from all over the world, Americana at its finest, and newer compositions. With repertoire spanning centuries, America, Our America is Inversion’s nod to the past while keeping its foothold planted firmly in the new and present. At the very heart of it, America is built on the backs of immigrants. With our country so very much divided, and many of our rights being threatened, this concert is a reminder for all to take a breath, to remember our shared and lived histories, and to look towards a brighter, more colorful, kinder future for all.

This allows us to purchase music, administrative, and artistic costs, in addition to providing provide a safe, clean venue for concerts and rehearsals. If you're not in a position to pay the full singer fee but can pay an amount that's in your budget, that’s completely fine, and you can still use that same link.
Please request a fee waiver in the registration form if you are unable to pay the singer fee— we are committed to making choir accessible to everyone! Kindly contact Rina for any questions.
SHEET MUSIC & REHEARSAL TRACKS
Sheet music will be sent via Dropbox by July 16, one month prior to the first rehearsal. We will print copies of music for those singers who request it. Singers are welcome to use tablets, alternatively, or to print directly from the Dropbox in advance of rehearsal. If you have a tablet but have not used it for reading music, we will happily give you a crash course! Download the “ForScore” app prior to the first rehearsal.
Rehearsal tracks will be provided to help singers practice at home. These will be available by July 20th.
CONCERT ATTIRE
Concert base attire is all black that’s considered relatively “nice.” We’ll also be adding a pop of color (yet to be determined!) such as ties, pocket squares, jewelry, shawls, socks, shoes, etc.We do not subscribe to gender norms, and support all singers in wearing attire that best represents themselves. The goal is to feel and look confident, happy, and proud.
COMMUNICATION
All questions and concerns - attendance, concert, fees, etc - should be addressed directly to me (Rina Saporsantos) at katrina@inversionatx.org. I can’t wait to see you and work with you!
